Message From Executive Director
The Equal Scouting Task Force is a non-profit organization with the goal of negating the current anti-gay policy of the Boy Scouts of America. We have a membership consisting of 2,000 Americans nationwide, many of them scouts themselves, including Eagle Scouts and various other executive officials. Some among us within our organization and our troops are gay themselves and so we are here to defend them from cruel discrimination, they are our brothers.
BSA policy currently mandates banning of all gays, children and adults alike. The ban strips gay youth of their membership and privileges of being a Boy Scout, if they come out as gay, leaving certain youth even being stripped of their Eagle rank.
Currently the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America is considering a proposal to end discrimination on the national level. This is a good step, but the proposal will still permit bigoted discrimination on the local levels, an unacceptable result.
Please join me and the members of The Equal Scouting Task Force in the fight for true equality in the Boy Scouts of America.
